Communication was top notch, facilities were amazing, professionalism was unmatched, and at the end of the day I felt more than confident that I had been matched with the perfect horse for me! I bought a beautiful and very docile, sweet-natured Percheron Draft horse and she has been the best! She is safe, obedient, willing to please, has soft eyes, gentle, and she gets along with other horses. Now, she has a forever home. I drove 9 hours each way to buy he,r and I had an excellent buying experience because she was exactly as described, and so much more. She was priced well, and it was love at first sight. I highly recommend this company because Guenevere has brought me more joy and happiness than all the money in the world. I love to ride her and baby her

We bought three horses from Step Above. Curtis and his team spent tons of time listening to our needs, and even accommodated the horses until we could get them home. I made the 2.5 hour drive five times to visit. They went above and beyond to make sure the horses were a good fit for me and my family. Unfortunately, after three weeks of being home, one of the horses wasn't working out, no fault to Step Above. I contacted Curtis, explained the situation, and he exchanged us another horse. No hassle, no unnecessary questions, just as his guarantee states. He once again listened to my needs and concerns, said he had a good horse in mind, and I had her transported sight unseen. She has worked out wonderfully! I won't buy from anyone else, and can't say enough good things about Curtis and his crew. 5 stars are not enough to rate my experience, and look forward to doing business again!!!

This place is awesome!!! Me and my girlfriend came to buy a horse and ended up buying two. We've never had so much fun as we've had on these horses. Very very well mannered horses and totally trustworthy. Every time we head out on a ride we get compliments on our horses. We've sent several of our friends to look at these guys horses too. We added two healthy, well-mannered geldings to the family from A Step Above Stables. Mr. Curtis said he had “just what we were looking for,” and we went down to GA for a quick test ride and found it to be true. We were assured by the guarantee that if our new friends were not a good fit, they could be exchanged up to a month later. Thankfully we did not need to take him up on that, as we are very pleased with our sweet trail riders. If you are looking to buy, we recommend A Step Above Stables. You can expect some time pressure and good salesmanship when booking your appointment because there is a typically a quick turnover. A delay could mean the horse you have your eyes on is already sold; thankfully, deposits are accepted. Mr. Curtis will be very quick in responding to all messages and will help schedule a trusted hauler.
